White Walls #60-61: Summer Show, Parts 1 & 2!

Hi everyone,

We are in the middle of a heatwave here in New England, so what better time to stay inside and listen to some fun music!? That's what we'll be doing this weekend and next - I'm excited to announce my first two-part show! I put these two shows together as two halves of a whole, and it was a fun experiment. Part 1 is airing this week, and Part 2 will air next week. Both shows feature some great fiddly, Americana music by lots of my favorite artists, like Sarah Jarosz, SaintSeneca, The Lowest Pair, Chris Pureka, and more. I hope you enjoy!

White Walls #59: Annual Winter Show!

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing well this December. It is cold and snowy here in New England, and we're just back from our annual trip north to the gray Maine coast, which was beautiful as always. I'm really happy to be back this week with my annual winter show! I like to play all of my favorite seasonal songs, including Sarah McLachlan, Sufjan Stevens, Dolly Parton, John Denver, and Reba McEntire. I play these same songs almost every year, so I hope they help to bring some pretty, moody holiday cheer to you.

White Walls #58: The Autumn Show

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all doing well. It has been a beautiful autumn here in New England, and it's the perfect weather to settle in and listen to some good music! On this week's show, I am really excited to be playing favorites like The Last Revel, Ocie Elliott, and Wild Rivers (with guests). Lots of fiddle-y, pretty, and sometimes moody music, just the way I like! I hope you do too.

White Walls #57: Summer

Hello everyone,

I hope you're having a good weekend. Here in New England, it's another rainy Saturday, which is a relief after several way too hot days. I'm really excited to share my new show this week. It has a few new-to-me artists, like Barbaro and Phoebe Hunt. I also found some tracks by favorite artists like the Lowest Pair and the Small Glories that I hadn't played before, or live or reimagined versions of old favorites. My beloved says it has a nice late-night feel, and I agree! I hope you enjoy as much as I did putting it together.

 Hi everyone,

I hope you're all doing well! It's been a very gray, rainy late spring here in New England, and I think my show this week is the perfect thing to listen to during such days! This week, I'm including lots of favorite artists like the Lowest Pair, Heather Maloney, and Valley Maker, plus some new finds, like Angie McMahon and boygenius. I hope you're all doing well. It's late November, and after a very dry autumn so far, we finally had some rain here in New England, and it's a windy, damp, and chilly evening tonight. I cannot think of better weather to sit and listen to my new show. This week, I'm featuring a nice mix of some of my favorite artists, like Wild Rivers, Ordinary Elephant, Jennifer Knapp, and Valley Maker. I think it's a sweet and quiet and fun mix, and I hope you all enjoy it.

 Hi everyone,

I hope your year is going well so far! It is a beautiful spring here in New England - plenty rainy enough that everything is bright green, dark fertile soil, beautiful buds everywhere. I'm excited to share this week's show with you! As often, I'm playing some longtime favorites, like Sufjan Stevens, River Whyless, and the Crane Wives, but I have some new(ish) to me finds this time too: Valley Maker, Great Grandpa, and Jamestown Revival. Lots of fiddly bluegrass, rainy gray day songs as my beloved says :) my favorite kind!

White Walls #50!!

Hi everyone,

I hope you are doing well, staying safe, and, here in the US, having a nice Thanksgiving weekend. It has been a beautiful autumn here in New England, and last night was the first night that really got cold. No better time to stay in, get cozy,  and listen to my 50th show this weekend on SpiritPlants Radio! This autumnal show features all sorts of my favorites, like Ocie Elliott, Haunted Like Human, and Honeysuckle, plus some newer-to-me finds like Raine Hamilton and Valley Maker.

I hope you're all doing well and staying safe. It's been a beautiful spring here in New England, not too hot yet and everything is green and in bloom. I'm excited to share this week's show with you! I picked mostly mellow songs, from lots of old favorites like Chris Pureka, Dead Horses, Edie Carey, Wild Rivers, and River Whyless, plus some of my newer finds, like Haunted Like Human and Slow Leaves. The last song is a collaboration by over 50 Canadian artists, released to support Canada's Kids Help Phone. A great song for a great cause!

It's so nice to be back with a new show this week, on SpiritPlants Radio's Anniversary Weekend! I'm excited about this week's show, which I think has a bit of an autumnal feel. It has quite the mix of artists, some old favorites like Wild Rivers, the Small Glories, and Lord Huron, and many new-to-me artists like Haunted Like Human, Raine Hamilton, and Ocie Elliot. It's bluegrassy and folksy, quiet and melodic, and maybe just a bit melancholic.

Part 2 features some of the same favorite bluegrassy-folksy artists as last time, like Alison Krauss & Union Station, Balmorhea, and Sarah Jarosz, and this show features different artists like Laurel Premo, Tyler Childers, and Cahalen Morrison and Eli West, and more! Both Part 1 and Part 2 have lots of bouncy and fun music, and I think Part 2 has a few more long, moody tracks.

 Hi everyone,

I'm so happy to be back with a new show - it's been a while! In fact, I was so excited to be back, I did a special two-part show, full of great bluegrass and Americana instrumental music. This week, Part 1 airs on SpiritPlants Radio, and includes many favorite artists that I've played before, like Balmorhea, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Sarah Jarosz, and Crooked Still, plus some new (to me) artists like Hawktail and Bowregard. It's an hour of fiddle-y, moody, dance-y music - great to listen to on a nice summer evening!
