White Walls #48: Mellow Spring Show

Hello everyone,

I hope you're all doing well and staying safe. It's been a beautiful spring here in New England, not too hot yet and everything is green and in bloom. I'm excited to share this week's show with you! I picked mostly mellow songs, from lots of old favorites like Chris Pureka, Dead Horses, Edie Carey, Wild Rivers, and River Whyless, plus some of my newer finds, like Haunted Like Human and Slow Leaves. The last song is a collaboration by over 50 Canadian artists, released to support Canada's Kids Help Phone. A great song for a great cause!

White Walls #47: Annual Winter Show

Hello everyone,

I hope your December so far has been a good one, safe and warm. It's been chilly the past few days here, which I think makes for the best time to listen to some seasonal music - which is what I'm playing this week on my annual winter show! As usual, I'm playing lots of my favorite seasonal songs, including Sufjan Stevens, Sarah McLachlan, Reba McEntire, and Mark O'Connor, plus some new songs that I found this year that felt wintery by South for Winter, Ocie Elliot, and others. These are some of my favorite songs for winter, and I hope you enjoy them.

This weekend is the annual Season of Lights weekend on SpiritPlants Radio this weekend, so be sure to check out the whole schedule! As always, it's a good one!

White Walls #46: Autumn

Hi everyone,

It's so nice to be back with a new show this week, on SpiritPlants Radio's Anniversary Weekend! I'm excited about this week's show, which I think has a bit of an autumnal feel. It has quite the mix of artists, some old favorites like Wild Rivers, the Small Glories, and Lord Huron, and many new-to-me artists like Haunted Like Human, Raine Hamilton, and Ocie Elliot. It's bluegrassy and folksy, quiet and melodic, and maybe just a bit melancholic.

White Walls #45: The Super Instrumental Show, Part 2!

 Hi everyone,

I hope you're all enjoying September! I'm so excited to bring you a new show this week - in fact, it's Part 2 of the Super Instrumental Show! Part 2 features some of the same favorite bluegrassy-folksy artists as last time, like Alison Krauss & Union Station, Balmorhea, and Sarah Jarosz, and this show features different artists like Laurel Premo, Tyler Childers, and Cahalen Morrison and Eli West, and more! Both Part 1 and Part 2 have lots of bouncy and fun music, and I think Part 2 has a few more long, moody tracks.

White Walls #44: The Super Instrumental Show, Part 1!

 Hi everyone,

I'm so happy to be back with a new show - it's been a while! In fact, I was so excited to be back, I did a special two-part show, full of great bluegrass and Americana instrumental music. This week, Part 1 airs on SpiritPlants Radio, and includes many favorite artists that I've played before, like Balmorhea, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Sarah Jarosz, and Crooked Still, plus some new (to me) artists like Hawktail and Bowregard. It's an hour of fiddle-y, moody, dance-y music - great to listen to on a nice summer evening!

It is a gray day here in New England, lightly snowing, sometimes sleeting - a perfect day to listen to some seasonal music, which you can find this week on my annual winter show! As usual, I'm playing lots of my favorite seasonal songs, including Sarah McLachlan, Sufjan Stevens, Dolly Parton, John Denver, and Reba McEntire, plus a few new ones by Amanda Shires. These songs are many of my favorite of the season, and I hope you enjoy them.

White Walls #42: Autumn

Hi everyone,

It is the middle of autumn here in New England, and it has been a beautiful one! The crisp air and beautiful leaves are a nice treat after a hot, wet, and humid summer. 

I'm excited about my new show this weekend! As usual, I included some songs by favorite artists, like Alanis Morissette, Jonatha Brooke, and River Whyless, and new-to-me artists like Rising Appalachia and Shook Twins. Lots of fiddly Americana, plus some more singer-songwriter tunes as well. I hope you enjoy it!
