White Walls #27: The Annual Winter Show

Hi everyone,

Happy December! We are enjoying our first snowfall of the year here in New England, so it's the perfect weekend for SpiritPlants Radio's Winter Weekend! On this week's show, I'm playing many of my favorite winter songs (which I play every year), along with a few new ones that I've never played. You'll hear songs by Sufjan Stevens, Sarah McLachlan, Mindy Smith, Brandi Carlile, and others.

Decembers have been a little frustrating and depressing for me the past few years, but this year, I'm hopeful that being in a new job will mean less stress. In that spirit, I'm trying to find new and better ways to appreciate the people and goings-on around me. So I'll take this opportunity to say thank you, SpiritPlants Radio, for giving me the opportunity to share some of my favorite songs with people around the world! Be sure to check out all the seasonal shows on the schedule this week!

White Walls #26 - The Thankee Show

Hi everyone and a belated happy Thanksgiving!

It's hard to believe November is almost over and we're most of the way through autumn. This is my favorite time of the year, and I'm trying to enjoy all the leaves, cool days, and bare branches before winter comes.

In this week's show, I am playing quite a few old favorites, like Lori McKenna and Of Monsters and Men. But I also found some songs by some people I haven't played in a while, like Jenn Rawling and Ruth Moody, and some brand new music to me, from HoneyHoney and Lydia Ramsey.

I am grateful for so much this year, and sharing music with you through SpiritPlants Radio is definitely on that list. Check out all the other great shows playing this week!

White Walls #25 - Late Summer

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all having a wonderful summer. It's hard to believe it's already coming to an end, but I cannot wait for autumn! I'm so happy to share my new show with you. It contains a lot of new-to-me songs from some of my long-time favorite artists, like the Crane Wives and Chris Pureka. But I also included some comforting (to me) songs from long ago, from Paula Cole and others. I think it's a nice mix of new and old!

Yesterday, I was laid off from the job that I've had for the past seven years. It was a shock but here's to finding new doors while making lemonaide, and definitely to having more time for making and enjoying good radio shows!

White Walls #24: Spring Show

Writing to you today on a gray and rainy spring day -- one of my favorite kinds! This time on White Walls, I'm sharing some new finds that I've discovered over the past few months, including Liza Anne and Daughter, and as usual, mixing in some of my old favorites: Deb Talan, Patty Griffin, and Horse Feathers, to name a few. There are even a few songs chosen just for my special someone. I think you'll enjoy it!
