Hi everyone,
Happy December! The days are definitely getting shorter, but the beautiful, autumnal weather we've had here in New England have done a good job of helping us all to forget that we're quickly approaching the shortest day of the year.
I'm excited to say that White Walls #20 will be airing this week on SpiritPlants Radio! 20 episodes is quite a milestone, and I'm happy that it coincided with my annual seasonal show. In addition to a few of my favorite seasonal songs, this year, I celebrated #20 by also featuring some of the songs I played over the course of the year! If you're a regular listener, all of these songs will be familiar, but I hope you'll enjoy hearing them again. I tried to include new and old favorites that I played this year, so you'll hear Barnaby Bright and Martha Scanlan alongside Sarah McLachlan and Sufjan Stevens, among many others.
It was a lot of fun bringing you these four episodes this year, and I want to thank DJ Soulard for the great work he does on SpiritPlants Radio, and especially for supporting all of us DJs! Tune in this weekend for many other seasonal shows - it'll be a festive weekend!
As always, I hope you enjoy and I'll see you all in the new year!
Take care, be well,
DJ Blue

White Walls #19 - The Instrumental Episode
Hello everyone,
Happy November! I hope you are all having a warm, safe, comforting, cozy autumn so far (if it's autumn where you are, that is). The hustle and bustle of the holidays are almost upon us, and I thought it was a good time for a fine, peaceable instrumental show. In this episode, you'll find instrumentals by many favorites you've heard on White Walls before: Alison Krauss & Union Station, Elephant Revival, Hem, and others. I've also included a couple that just haven't found their way onto my show yet, but I've long enjoyed: Balmorhea and Nick Cave/Warren Ellis.
I hope you all enjoy, and that it might bring some fiddly entertainment on a crisp autumn day. As always, I'd highly recommend checking out all the other fine shows this weekend on SpiritPlants Radio. I'll be back soon for another seasonal episode, so until then, stay warm and crunch away!
Take care,
DJ Blue

White Walls #17-18
Hello everyone,
I hope everyone is having a nice 2015 so far! It's hard to believe I haven't posted since the Seasonal Episode. I want to tell you about my show - #18 - that will be on this weekend, but also about #17, which aired in April.
Episode #17 was a fun one, full of all sorts of old favorites: Sufjan Stevens, Brandi Carlile, Lord Huron, and lots of new finds: Barnaby Bright, Liza Anne, and the Native Sibling. We were just coming out of a very long winter and these songs definitely helped to brighten up our moods. As always, you can stream this episode, along with all the past episodes of my show and other SpiritPlants Radio DJs, here!
Episode #18 has been a lot of fun, too. Several favorite artists released new albums recently, including Florence + the Machine, Mumford & Sons, and Torres, so I included several songs from them. I also found some good new bands to mix in, including Taarka, Honeyhoney, and Kathleen Murray. I also threw in a few old songs to round out the mix.
I hope you all enjoy this show, and please be sure to check out all the other great shows featured this weekend on SpiritPlants Radio!
Have a nice summer!
Take care,
DJ Blue
