White Walls #52: Spring

 Hi everyone,

I hope your year is going well so far! It is a beautiful spring here in New England - plenty rainy enough that everything is bright green, dark fertile soil, beautiful buds everywhere. I'm excited to share this week's show with you! As often, I'm playing some longtime favorites, like Sufjan Stevens, River Whyless, and the Crane Wives, but I have some new(ish) to me finds this time too: Valley Maker, Great Grandpa, and Jamestown Revival. Lots of fiddly bluegrass, rainy gray day songs as my beloved says :) my favorite kind!

White Walls #51: The Annual Winter Show

 Hello everyone,

I hope you are having a safe and warm December so far. We haven't had any snow yet here in New England, but we've had beautiful crisp sunny days and rainy gray days, both of which makes me want to listen to some seasonal music - which is what I'm playing this week on my annual winter show! Like in years past, I'm playing lots of my favorite seasonal songs, including Sufjan Stevens, Sarah McLachlan, Reba McEntire, and Mark O'Connor, plus some new songs that I found this year that felt wintery by Darling West and Alexa Rose. I hope you enjoy these winter-y songs.

This weekend is the annual Season of Lights weekend on SpiritPlants Radio this weekend, so be sure to check out the whole schedule! As always, it's a good one!

White Walls #50!!

Hi everyone,

I hope you are doing well, staying safe, and, here in the US, having a nice Thanksgiving weekend. It has been a beautiful autumn here in New England, and last night was the first night that really got cold. No better time to stay in, get cozy,  and listen to my 50th show this weekend on SpiritPlants Radio! This autumnal show features all sorts of my favorites, like Ocie Elliott, Haunted Like Human, and Honeysuckle, plus some newer-to-me finds like Raine Hamilton and Valley Maker. 

I can't believe it's my 50th show, and it just so happens that my 50th show is happening on SpiritPlants Radio's 20th Anniversary Weekend! Be sure to check out all the other great shows playing all weekend!

 Hi everyone,

I hope you're all enjoying June! It's been a cool and rainy month here in New England, which means everything is so green and beautiful! I'm so excited to bring you a new show this week. I'm playing songs by some of my favorites, like Florence + the Machine, Edie Carey, and Honeysuckle, plus a couple new to me bands like WILD and the Weather Station. I think it's a fun, peppy, summer-y show, and I hope you enjoy!

White Walls #48: Mellow Spring Show

Hello everyone,

I hope you're all doing well and staying safe. It's been a beautiful spring here in New England, not too hot yet and everything is green and in bloom. I'm excited to share this week's show with you! I picked mostly mellow songs, from lots of old favorites like Chris Pureka, Dead Horses, Edie Carey, Wild Rivers, and River Whyless, plus some of my newer finds, like Haunted Like Human and Slow Leaves. The last song is a collaboration by over 50 Canadian artists, released to support Canada's Kids Help Phone. A great song for a great cause!

It's been chilly the past few days here, which I think makes for the best time to listen to some seasonal music - which is what I'm playing this week on my annual winter show! As usual, I'm playing lots of my favorite seasonal songs, including Sufjan Stevens, Sarah McLachlan, Reba McEntire, and Mark O'Connor, plus some new songs that I found this year that felt wintery by South for Winter, Ocie Elliot, and others. These are some of my favorite songs for winter, and I hope you enjoy them.

White Walls #46: Autumn

Hi everyone,

It's so nice to be back with a new show this week, on SpiritPlants Radio's Anniversary Weekend! I'm excited about this week's show, which I think has a bit of an autumnal feel. It has quite the mix of artists, some old favorites like Wild Rivers, the Small Glories, and Lord Huron, and many new-to-me artists like Haunted Like Human, Raine Hamilton, and Ocie Elliot. It's bluegrassy and folksy, quiet and melodic, and maybe just a bit melancholic.
